TITLE: AFTER-SCHOOL INSTRUCTIONAL
AIDE
JOB SUMMARY: To work one-on-one or in group settings with individuals
in the Autism Spectrum. To provide a well-organized environment in which
students with autism are given the needed support to effectively learn
new functional, self-help, social, and communication skills and all the
responsibilities thereof.
REPORTS: Program Manager and Administrator
JOB PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITES:
• Work Monday-Friday 1:30 to 5:15
• Maintain confidentiality at all times
• Implement student programs as created by Program Managers and
Behavior Support Manager in a Discrete Trial Training/Applied Behavior
Analysis technique.
1. Individual Program Plans (IPP)
2. Behavior Support Plans (BSP)
• Record accurate program and behavior data
• Maintain students program binders by filing data as needed
• Ability to work with various students in the Autism Spectrum
• Maintains a well organized work area for the students
• Adhere to the daily job responsibility duties at the end of shift
• Performs other clerical duties as assigned
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work year to be according to VAC schedule
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with
VAC’s Employee Handbook and Board Policies
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School graduate
• Ability to effectively communicate orally and written
• Ability to perform physical duties while working with students
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES and REGISTRATION:
• CPR/First Aid certification a plus |
